Additional information

Clavons-CV-625 is a potent combination antibiotic tablet primarily prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections. It belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics and is highly effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This makes it a reliable choice for treating respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and other bacterial ailments.

Composition:
Each tablet contains:

Cefuroxime 625 mg ? A second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

Uses and Indications:

Respiratory tract infections like bronchitis and pneumonia.

Urinary tract infections, including cystitis.

Skin and soft tissue infections.

Bone and joint infections.

Ear, nose, and throat infections such as sinusitis and tonsillitis.

Mechanism of Action:
Cefuroxime, the active ingredient, binds to specific proteins on the bacterial cell wall called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This interferes with the synthesis of peptidoglycan, an essential component of the bacterial cell wall. As a result, the bacterial cell wall weakens, leading to lysis and death of the bacteria.

Dosage and Administration:
The usual adult dosage is 625 mg twice daily, preferably after meals. Dosage may vary based on infection severity and patient health condition. For children, dosage is calculated based on body weight, and a pediatrician?s guidance is essential.

Precautions:

Avoid use in patients with a known allergy to cephalosporins or penicillin.

Take the tablet with food to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

Complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve.

Side Effects:

Mild nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Rarely, allergic reactions like rash or itching.

Long-term use may lead to disruption of gut microbiota.
